Over 11, 000 people stormed through the doors at the Ford Fan Day yesterday in Brisbane to celebrate all things Ford Racing and interact with their favourite Ford V8 Supercar drivers.

The RNA Showgrounds were at full capacity as race fans flocked to attend an abundance of autograph sessions, photo opportunities and remote control V8 Supercar racing with Ford’s finest personalities.
Ford V8 driver and Channel Seven star Grant Denyer wowed onlookers with a succession of intimate interviews and an-ever entertaining commentary of the day’s activities which allowed Ford Fans to get close to their sporting idols.
“This is an especially unique day for Ford fans, we have really been able to spend quality time with people,” Craig Lowndes said.
“At the racetrack we are often in a rush due to racing commitments, so a day like this gives us the chance to relax and have some fun.”
“With plenty of attractions and non-stop entertainment, it’s essentially been a showcase of the best Ford has to offer.”
Steven Johnson took out the remote control V8 Supercar final, qualifying top three and battling against on-track Jim Beam Racing team mate Will Davison and Stone Brothers Racing rival Russell Ingall.
Ford Fans participated in a number of interactive stage shows facilitated by Denyer, including an insightful panel discussion with Jason Bright, John Bowe and James Courtney.
Russell Ingall, Steven Johnson and Simon Wills were a highlight with a game of celebrity heads – which saw Ingall penned Greg Norman, Grant Denyer and Donald Trump. Wills was labelled Darryl Somers and Elvis Presley, and Johnson was Captain Cook and Craig Lowndes.

The ‘How well do you know your drivers?’ game explored the lives of Jamie Whincup, Steven Richards and Will Davison with lucky fans winning V8 Supercar hot laps and posters signed by the entire field of Blue Oval drivers.
Ford fans were asked to answer questions such as ‘Whincup said everybody cries or everybody bleeds in relation to HRT and HSV?,’ and ‘Davison said he was driving alongside Donkeys or Monkeys on the telecast in Bahrain last year?’
The XBOX challenge saw fans go head-to-head for the chance to win XBOX consoles and games.
The Ford V8 Supercar drivers will hit the track again this weekend at Queensland Raceway for round seven of the 2007 V8 Supercar Championship series.
Aside from last year’s ignorable blip on the results radar. Ford has taken pole position and the round win the prior five years in succession at the Ipswich based event.
“Ford has had remarkable success at Queensland Raceway in the past decade,” said Ford Racing Manager Ray Price.
“Marcos Ambrose was on pole five years in a row, and Ford won the round those five years with Ambrose, Ingall and Lowndes among those winners.”

“With V8 outfits such as Team Vodafone, Stone Brothers, Glenfords and Jim Beam Racing utilizing the circuit as their test track, we expect that success to continue this weekend.
“The Falcon’s dominated at round six in Darwin, with Craig Lowndes taking the round win. We’ve proven we’ve got the pace to take on the Holden’s and there are a number of our drivers who have the Championship firmly in their sights.”
