Is there a difference in ratios between ea and el 5 speed gearboxes in third gear
Dale you didn’t state 6 cylinder or V8 there are differences between them.
Third gear ratios used in T5’s are 1.29, 1.33, 1.34, 1.44 and more.
It would depend on the transmission code of the T5.
El falcon 6cyl T5 Gear Ratios:
1st 3.23 2nd 1.99
3rd 1.29 4th 1.00 5th 0.72 – -
Reverse 3.15
As far as I know the EA 3.9ltr manual had the same ratios, but it could depend on which gearbox was supplied by Borg Warner at the time.
