The launch of Ford Performance Vehicles will raise the bar for the popular XR Falcon sports sedans.
?One of the key rationales behind Ford Performance Vehicles is to lift Ford?s premium high performance models to even greater heights,? said Ford Australia President Mr Geoff Polites.
?This leaves more room for the BA range of XR models to push the boundaries of performance and value for money in their price range.?
Mr Polites said the XR models were key to the success of the Falcon model line-up and would continue as part of Ford?s mainstream range.
"The launch of Ford Performance Vehicles will see the retirement of Tickford branding on all Ford vehicles from September. Only vehicles that have been designed and engineered by Ford Performance Vehicles will carry the FPV badge.
"While Ford Performance Vehicles will continue to supply engineering input and V8 engines to XR models, these vehicles will carry solely Ford identification," said Mr Polites.
