The muscular new T3 range is powered by a stroked version of Ford's legendary 5-litre V8, with capacity out to 5.6 litres. Power and torque are increased to 250 kW and 500 Nm respectively.
Styling of the new range mirrors the power beneath the bonnet, with front and rear spoilers on the TE and TS modeled on the aerodynamic package fitted to Ford's XR8 Supercars. Eighteen-inch wheels and low profile, high performance tyres are now standard across the range.
The T-Series family retains its three-car range ? the TE50, TS50 and long wheelbase TL50.
"The T-Series now has the looks to turn heads and the power and torque to back up its image," says Tickford Managing Director David Flint.
"The widely-acclaimed chassis remains unchanged, while the added horsepower makes for an even more exciting drive."
Mechanicals
The TE50 and TS50 are now available with the choice of manual or optional automatic transmissions. The TE50 employs an adaptive automatic transmission and TS50 owners have the unique ESS automatic gearbox, with steering wheel-mounted change buttons.
The TL50, which retains the less aggressive design of previous models, features the same driveline as the TS50. Automatic transmission is standard.
All three vehicles now produce 250 kW of power at 5250 rpm and 500 Nm of torque at 4250 rpm.
The 5.6-litre V8 is built at Tickford using a modified ?Windsor? block, an all-new crankshaft, ported cylinder head with high performance springs and valves, billet machined connecting rods, lightweight pistons with fully floating pins, a revised camshaft profile, an 82 mm diameter throttle body, three-piece high flow inlet manifold and conical air cleaner with dedicated mass air flow (MAF) sensor.
Each engine carries a unique build plate signed by the Tickford technician who crafted it.
In addition to the sports suspension package, a sports/luxury suspension is available as an option on the TE50 and TS50, and standard on the TL50. The premium suspension incorporates Koni shock absorbers and variable rate rear springs, a retuned front stabilizer bar and ride height lowered a further 7 mm.
Exceptional braking is provided by a package consisting of 329 mm vented and grooved front discs with twin-piston calipers and 287 mm grooved rear discs.
An optional Brembo brake package is also available, featuring 355 mm cross-drilled and ventilated front discs and 330 mm cross-drilled and ventilated rear discs, all with four-piston calipers. The result is a brake package suitable for extreme performance driving.
High performance Dunlop SP 9000 245/40 ZR18 tyres complete the dynamic package. On the TE50 they are fitted to 18 by 8-inch Azzuro alloys, while the TS50 and TL50 have unique new alloy wheels.
Supercar design
The extra power and torque of the new T3 range is complemented by an aggressive body design.
The design includes new front and rear fascias, a black mesh grille incorporating the Tickford logo, side skirts with T-Series badging, a deeper rear bumper with exposed exhaust and a choice of unique spoilers for the TE and TS.
The ground-hugging design mirrors the aerodynamic package of the Falcon V8 Supercar, giving the vehicles an athletic and dynamic look usually reserved for the front row of the grid on race day.
In the driver's seat
The T-Series offers a luxurious driving environment featuring leather seats embossed with the Tickford logo, Momo accessories, floor mats and an impressive CD/audio system.
The TE is based on the XR8 interior layout, with a choice of three leather colour schemes ? red and black, blue and black and straight black. The colour scheme extends throughout the interior, from the seats and door inserts to the matching leather Momo steering wheel and gear knob.
The TS also has red/black and blue/black interior schemes, with a third option of warm charcoal leather, while the TL interior is available in either warm charcoal or aubergine.
The TS and TL are fitted with the high series Falcon dash, featuring a unique instrument cluster with white fascia, automatic climate control and trip computer. Sound in the TE and TS is supplied by a 100 watt system with single-slot CD player, while the TL features a 200 watt, 11-speaker element system with six-stack in-dash CD.
DataDot security
T-Series owners will also now enjoy the peace of mind that comes with Ford's DataDot security system. Each car will be sprayed with thousands of minuscule dots etched with lines of text that represent a compacted version of each T-Series' vehicle identification number (VIN).
This advanced vehicle identification system will make it virtually impossible for professional thieves to alter ? or 'rebirth' ?a DataDot marked T-Series.
"The Tickford-Ford partnership recently celebrated its tenth anniversary and this new T-Series is the ideal way to celebrate that milestone,? said David Flint.
"We've come a long way since 1991, but our focus has remained on designing and building cars that are a joy to drive.
"The recent 220 kW power upgrade in XR8 was evidence of Ford's commitment to providing a true driver's car.
?Now the new T-Series is a further step in that exciting journey.?
