Sydney International Motor Show 2003 - Ford Gets Personal

Staff, Thursday October 16, 2003.

Ford's new Territory and Fiesta will be complemented by an exciting range of Genuine Ford Accessories when they go on sale in 2004.

Following extensive market research, Ford has developed a range of Genuine Ford Accessories that will allow customers to personalise each vehicle to suit their individual needs.

Along with the more traditional products such as carpet mats and weathershields, the range of Genuine Ford Accessories also features a number of innovative and exciting new products.

Territory
Ford Australia's Design Studio worked closely with the Vehicle Personalisation team to ensure that Territory's characteristics and personality were reflected in the accessory range.

"The accessories in the Territory were designed as part of the vehicle development, rather than as an afterthought," said Ford Australia Design Director Simon Butterworth. "This gives the entire Territory package an integrated, seamless look and feel."

Outdoor enthusiasts can choose from a variety of accessories, including a bike carrier, canoe holder and ski holder.

A dedicated Territory fridge in different storage capacities, starting at 15 litres, adds to the list of innovative accessories. The fridge is easily connected to the 12V power outlet in the rear of the vehicle.

Territory buyers can also enjoy the latest digital technology with the Rear Entertainment Xtreme (REX) in-car entertainment system. Featuring a roof-mounted 18cm anti-glare wide screen, it plays DVD, MP3 and CD through the vehicle's audio system or through infrared headphones.

Books, toys and drink bottles can be neatly stored in the seatback organiser, which includes a tray and zipper compartments, clips around the front passenger seat headrest and can conveniently be converted into a stylish backpack.

Fiesta
The Sydney Motor Show also signals the reveal of some of the new accessories in the Fiesta range.

Alloy wheels (16"), spoiler and full body styling kit, including front, rear and side skirts, can be added to give Fiesta a more aggressive, performance-oriented look.

A reverse sensing system option adds to Fiesta's range of features, providing warning tones to assist the driver when reversing and for accurate parking.

Falcon Range
Falcon XR buyers will also be able to personalise their vehicle with the option of adding body hugging sports leather seats. The soft leather seats matched with suede will be available in a selection of colours to co-ordinate with exterior vehicle colours.

A Sports Kit has also been released for Falcon XT, comprising Sports Control Blade Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) and a body kit including high arch spoiler and 17" alloy wheels can now be ordered to enhance the sporty appearance and athletic stance of the vehicle.

Tested to meet Ford's exacting standards and designed to perfectly suit each vehicle, every product in this new and extensive range of Genuine Ford Accessories is safe, reliable, and a functional enhancement to the vehicles.

Territory, Fiesta and Falcon Genuine Ford Accessories will be on display at the Sydney International Motor Show from Thursday, October 16 through to Sunday, October 26 2003.
