Seton to Start on the Third Row in Adelaide

Ford Tickford Racing's (FTR) Glenn Seton will start from fifth position for tomorrow's first race of the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide.

Teammate Steven Richards will start from 13th position after both FTR drivers took part in the top-15 shootout.

Seton made a number of suspension adjustments after morning practice, which paid off in qualifying with Seton setting the sixth quickest time.

"It was great to improve to fifth position in the shootout, although I did make a couple of mistakes," said Seton.

"I was hard on the brakes and the back end stepped out, and although I didn't spin, it certainly lost me some time.

"The car is very good, and I will be wanting to get a good start and make sure I keep out of trouble, as there will be a lot of bent cars after this weekend.

Steven Richards' day started in dramatic circumstances with a blown oil seal causing a smoke screen behind the Falcon.

Once repaired he set quick times during practice and qualifying to make the final spot in the top-15 shootout.

"It was good to improve to 13th position, but I would have liked to be further up the grid," said Richards.

"I will make some small changes overnight, and I'm confident of challenging in tomorrow's first race.

"I did start down the grid at the Grand Prix street races and I was able to improve to second place - so I'm looking forward to more of the same tomorrow.

The Clipsal 500 features two 250km races this weekend, with both Saturday and Sunday races to feature two mandatory pit stops.
