Dr. Bacon has been promoted from his current role as Senior Program Manager with Prodrive Automotive Technology Asia-Pacific and will take up his new position in Thailand in September.
PATL is based in Bangkok and provides engineering contract services to automotive manufacturers in the ASEAN region. Currently, PATL is providing engineering consultancy services to major OEMs in Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, Taiwan and India.
At present, PATL employs almost 70 staff ? an increase of almost 100 percent in just under two years. Dr Bacon?s appointment as General Manager comes at a time of significant growth for Prodrive Automotive Technology Thailand.

Dr. Bacon brings with him a wealth of engineering expertise following a 20-year career at the cutting edge of automotive design and engineering.
Graduating from Nottingham University in the UK, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, he joined Rolls-Royce as an Aerospace Engineer and later, with sponsorship from the Ford Motor Company in Europe, he completed is doctorate in Automotive Engineering.
Dr. Bacon then joined a leading UK engineering consultancy before joining Lotus Engineering where he worked on a variety of high-tech external contracts for manufacturers such as General Motors, Ford Motor Company, Peugeot and Proton. Latterly, Dr. Bacon was Chief Engineer ? Powertrain for Lotus Engineering in the Asia-Pacific region..
In November 2003, Dr. Bacon joined Prodrive Automotive Technology Asia-Pacific and managed the engineering and validation programs of the latest range of FPV models, including the MkII GT, F6 Typhoon and F6 Tornado.
