First shown at the recent Australian International Motor Show, the new German-engineered Ford Fiesta range receives a distinctive new look with revisions to exterior styling, fresh interiors, vibrant new colours and an impressive list of features.
"Over the past 20 months, Fiesta has established itself as a leader in the Light car sector, with a combination of European style, German engineering and outstanding driving dynamics that has seen it win motoring awards in Australia and overseas," Ford Australia President Tom Gorman said.
"The new Fiesta range builds on its already impressive reputation with the added appeal of a fresh new look, improved technology and safety features, and a revised pricing structure that makes it even better value for money."
The recommended retail price is reduced by more than five per cent on some Fiesta models, while air conditioning becomes standard across the entire Fiesta range.
Fiesta LX is fitted with a higher level of trim fabric and comes with the addition of a seat back pocket on the driver's seat, while the recommended retail price of the entry-level LX three-door with air conditioning remains unchanged at $15,990*.
ABS with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) will also be available as an option on manual transmission LX models with the introduction of the new Fiesta.
The sporty Fiesta Zetec, which will be available from March 2006, comes standard with 16-inch alloy wheels, sports suspension and revised gear ratios in the manual transmission, while the recommended retail price also remains unchanged, at $18,490*.
"With the arrival of the new Fiesta range, Ford will continue to deliver a feature and value-packed line-up that is sure to prove extremely attractive to small car buyers," Mr Gorman said.
