Natalie, wife of Ford V8 Supercar driver Craig Lowndes, is to make her racing debut at this year’s Clipsal 500 Adelaide to be held from April 6-8.

Jill Johnson, wife of legendary driver Dick and mother of current Shell Helix team driver Steven, will join Natalie Lowndes in the All Female Celebrity Challenge featuring the Ford Laser SR2.

The two ‘racing wives’ will be competing in a 14 car field which includes sporting, media, and show business stars.

All drivers will compete in the new 2.0 litre SR2 version of the Ford Laser which are to be fitted with 16 inch alloy road wheels, ABS brakes, lowered suspension, and a full body kit.

The celebrity cars will be painted in the team livery of the top Ford V8 Supercar teams, with each celebrity being ‘adopted’ by a Ford V8 Supercar driver.

Natalie Lowndes will be partnered with husband Craig in the Gibson Motorsport Ford team, with Jill Johnson being coached by son Steven, from the Dick Johnson Shell Helix team.

Other drivers and their Ford V8 Supercar partners are as follows:

Angela Bishop from Network Ten with Neil Crompton (Gibson Motorsport)
Penny Cooper (Triple M Adelaide) with David Besnard (Stone Brothers/Caltex Havoline Racing)
Singer Lisa Edwards with Steven Richards (Ford Tickford Racing)
Cheyne Coates with Steve Ellery (Super Cheap Auto Racing)
Dawn Fraser with John Bowe (CAT Racing)
