Maximum Victories for Ford in 2008

Jamie Whincup took out the 2008 V8 Supercar Championship for Ford this weekend at Oran Park in Sydney, sealing maximum victories for the Blue Oval across the awards on offer.

Finishing 253 points clear of Ford Performance Racing’s Mark Winterbottom, Whincup clinched the victory yesterday in race one by claiming 100 points with a race win and today was awarded the coveted trophy.

The final top ten for the year was dominated by seven Falcons.

Just 68 points were required this weekend for Whincup to take out the ultimate crown in V8 Supercar racing.

In a 2008 clean sweep Ford took out the driver’s title, Manufacturer’s Championship, Teams Award (TeamVodafone), Pole Award (Whincup) and TeamVodafone was also named Best Presented.
