The Falcon ute has attracted 11,027 sales so far this year, up 28 per cent on the same period last year.
Value for money has been a cornerstone of the Falcon ute?s unrivalled popularity and the three special editions will build on this reputation by offering thousands of dollars of extra equipment with no addition to recommended retail price.
?The three special editions emphasise the versatility of the Falcon ute, focusing on three separate customer groups,? Ford SUV and Light Commercial Marketing manager, Kevin Lillie said.
?Customers can choose from the workhorse ?Tradesman?, the business-mixed-with-pleasure SE or the sporty Marlin,? he said.
The Tradesman is aimed squarely at the commercial vehicle buyer. Based on the one-tonne XL Chassis Cab ute, the Tradesman is fitted with 15-inch alloy wheels, a factory-fitted aluminium tray, a colour-keyed grille and ?Tradesman? decals.
The package represents more than $2100 worth of added value to the customer.
The Falcon SE is made for the customer who wants a work vehicle during the week and a sports utility vehicle on the weekends.
The SE is based on a style-side XL and features 15-inch alloy wheels, a colour-keyed grille, polished alloy sports bar, tonneau cover, SE badging and a chrome exhaust tip. The extras are worth more than $1600.
The Tradesman and SE will retail for the recommended retail price of an XL chassis-cab and XL style side respectively. (5-speed, XL Chassis Cab - $23, 420, 5-speed XL styleside - $24,290).
The Marlin is aimed squarely at the sports ute buyer, with more than $3000 worth of extras.
The Marlin package includes air-conditioning, a six-disc in-dash sound system, polished alloy sportsbar, tonneau cover and chrome exhaust tip.
The recommended retail price for a 5-speed manual XLS styleside ute is $27,635.
?The Falcon ute has established a new benchmark for light trucks in Australia, with class-leading power and torque and a long list of standard features, including a roomy supercab, driver?s airbag, CD-player, engine immobilisation system, remote entry, ?distance-to-empty? read out and audible speed-alert,? Mr Lillie said.
The Falcon ute is also the only light commercial vehicle available in Australia to offer an environmentally-friendly Dedicated LPG option, which provides considerable cost benefits over petrol rivals.
