The last Fairlane to leave Ford Australia’s production system is to be auctioned for charity, with net proceeds donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Ford ambassadors and Australian cricket stars Andrew Symonds and Matthew Hayden visited Ford Head Office to officially launch the auction.

"The Fairlane was part of Australian motoring for 40 years and it’s important to recognise the significant historical value of this iconic model," said Mark Winslow, Vice President of Marketing and Sales.
"We anticipate strong interest in the auction and would like to think that there will be a substantial donation made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. I’m sure there will also be one very happy motoring enthusiast who will secure a piece of automotive history."

The last vehicle is a BF Fairlane Ghia with a 4.0-litre inline six cylinder engine mated to a ZF six-speed automatic transmission, painted in Lightning Strike (silver). It is the final example of more than 250,000 Fairlane and LTD vehicles manufactured between 1967 and 2008.
