Marcos Ambrose revisits one of his favourite NASCAR venues when the NASCAR Busch Series visits Kansas Speedway for the Yellow Transportation 300 in Kansas City this weekend.

Ambrose scored his first NASCAR top five finish at Kansas in last year’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with third place in only his ninth event.

The Australian also qualified fourth on that day around the 1.5-mile oval and on this occasion Ambrose is looking forward to taking the #59 Kingsford Charcoal Ford Fusion to Kansas as he seeks to score a similar result.

Ambrose and his Wood Brothers/JTG Racing team have shown good form on the faster intermediate-style speedways and enter this weekend with a positive outlook and ready to challenge for Ambrose’s fifth top ten and 16th top 20 finish for the season.

Ambrose sits eighth in the NASCAR Busch Series standings, 21 points behind fellow Ford driver Greg Biffle in the points with six races remaining. Ambrose remains second in the Raybestos Rookie of the Year standings behind David Ragan.

“Kansas is one of the tracks I have really been looking forward to in this final run of races,” said Ambrose.

“It’s a track that I really got used to very quickly when I was there in the truck last season and we had a great race. It was one of the events that gave me a lot of confidence for the rest of the season and into this year.”

“We have been working very well as a team and making progress. Last weekend we ran well after a bit of a hiccup in qualifying but Kansas is the place I’ve been looking towards for a really strong result.”

“We will go there, do our own thing and see how we go in practice and qualifying. We’ve got to think about the points situation as well but it would be great if we can get the car set-up right and be in a position to make a run for the top five in the last part of the race.”

“It’s been a big week for our family with the arrival of Adelaide and I really have to thank my team, sponsors and everyone both in the United States and in Australia who has been supportive of Sonja and me and sent their best wishes.”

“I’d love to give the girls a good result this weekend. With Sonja, Tabitha and now Adelaide I’m a very lucky guy, even if I finish last this weekend.”
