Caltex Havoline Racing?s Russell Ingall has won both V8 races at the Gillette Challenge as part of round 11 of the V8 Supercar Championship Series.

Ford finished with seven cars in the top-10 and in the process earned the Blue Oval its eighth win of the 2003 season.

Championship leader Marcos Ambrose (Pirtek Racing) finished fourth overall and still maintains a solid gap on his rivals.

Making it a double for Ford, US rookie driver Ryan Hunter-Reay won his first Champ Car race in a rain-effected Lexmark Indy 300. Paul Tracy took his first title after 13 years of competition.

After winning yesterday?s opening 100-kilometre race, Ingall got the jump in today?s final 22-lap event leading from the green light.

Stiff opposition came from Greg Murphy and teammate Ambrose.

After the round of pit stops Ambrose got ahead of Ingall and Murphy, and appeared to be in a position to take victory.

However, his engine lost power and he slipped behind Ingall, Murphy and Mark Skaife.

With the team telling him to drive until it stops, Ambrose charged on.

Two late safety car periods bunched up the field and in the process helped Ambrose conserve his engine.

Up front Ingall remained unchallenged and crossed the line for a popular victory.

?This is a great team win,? said Ingall.

?The boys gave me a great car and we qualified it near the front and it was just awesome in both races.

?It was great to see Marcos finish up there and after a couple of poor runs for our team, Stone Brothers Racing is back.

?It was a great day for Ford, seven in the top-10 and the Champ Car win all made for plenty of celebrations in the blue corner?.

A strong spread of Ford drivers and teams made up the seven places in the ten, including Steven Johnson (Shell Helix Racing), Glenn Seton (Ford Credit Ford Performance Racing), Paul Radisich (Team Betta Electrical), Craig Lowndes (CAT Ford Performance Racing) and John Bowe (OzEmail Race Team).

Teams have little rest before the next round at Pukekohe south of Auckland in two weeks time. All cars and equipment will be loaded aboard a freighter in two days time for the Trans-Tasman crossing.
