A striking new Ford-designed livery graces the first Gibson Motorsport-built Ford Falcon racer, which will debut in Australia?s most famous motor race on 7 October.
Drawn by Ford Australia's Designer - Styling, Nick Hogios, under direction from Chief Designer, Simon Butterworth, the dramatic new look strongly introduces the Falcon brand in a visual sense with both signage and graphics.
"We were set an interesting challenge with the design of a new concept to celebrate the strengthened partnership between Ford, Craig Lowndes and Gibson Motorsport," Nick Hogios said.
"The black and silver colours of the car, which were first seen at the start of this season, have created a great deal of interest because they give such a menacing and aggressive appearance, so that gave us a starting point.
?From there, we wanted to introduce the ?Falcon? brand as strongly as possible, so it seemed natural to incorporate the Falcon bird logo stylistically to give the car an even more aggressive look ? to give it an appearance of speed even when it is standing still.
"The Falcon's new livery also evokes a futuristic interpretation on the strength of the Falcon brand.?
