Ford Australia has joined forces with the iconic Rip Curl brand to bring the legendary Rip Curl Pro Surf and Music Festival to Bells Beach.

As the official vehicle supplier for the event, a fleet of Falcon XR Utes and Territory SUVs will make an eye-catching addition to the Pro Surfing event, which commences at the famed break on April 11.

A number of Rip Curl sponsored elite surfers including Mick Fanning and Nathan Hedge will also be making their way to and from the competition in their own XR Ute.

"Rip Curl and Ford are both Australian icons and the Bells Beach surfing competition is world-renowned," said Ford Australia Vice President of Marketing & Sales, Mark Winslow.

"Sponsoring one of the world's most demanding surfing events is an excellent opportunity for Ford to become involved with an exciting and increasingly popular sport.

"Vehicles such as the locally designed and manufactured XR Ute and Territory offer huge amounts of versatility and functionality. Wetsuits, bags and several surfboards can all be carried in a ute fitted with a lockable hard tonneau cover and there's additional storage space available in the cabin behind the seats.

"Territory boasts even greater load carrying ability, with a wet storage area for wetsuits, a reversible rear floor area and numerous storage compartments. The AWD version will allow surfers to truly embrace Rip Curls' own 'Search' philosophy through accessing the harder to reach surfing locations through its full time all wheel drive capability."

Falcon XR ute will also sponsor the 'Unbelievable Manoeuvre Prize' ? a special award presented to the competitor who performs the most spectacular manoeuvre during the competition.

"XR Ute and Territory push the boundaries of progression and innovation and it'll take a similar boundary-pushing performance from one of the competitors to claim victory at the Rip Curl Pro event and ring the famous 'Bell trophy' this Easter," said Mr Winslow.
