Ford Teams Arrive for Bathurst

Ford Racing?s 11 officially supported teams consisting of 30 drivers have all arrived for Australia?s premier motor sports event, the Bob Jane T-Marts 1000 at Bathurst.

To mark Ford Racing?s commitment to winning at Mount Panorama in 2002, all teams gathered in pit lane before today?s opening practice session.

As well as the drivers, over 300 people will work for teams, sponsors and the Ford Motor Company this weekend.

Consisting of 215 total Bathurst starts, the team includes past Bathurst winners, an ex Formula One World Champion (Alan Jones) and former 500cc World title-holder (Wayne Gardner).

Amongst the big names racing Ford Falcon AUXR8 Supercars are three-time series winner and 1996 Bathurst champion Craig Lowndes (00 Motorsport), 1989 and ?94 winner John Bowe (OzEmail Race Team) and two-time series champion Glenn Seton (Ford Credit Racing).

Adding spice to the mix is last year?s pole winner and rookie of year Marcos Ambrose (Pirtek Racing) and his Stone Brothers Racing teammate, and winner of the recent VIP Pet Foods Queensland 500, David Besnard.

The driver line-up is a combination of Australian, New Zealand, Scottish and for the first time a Brazilian, with former Williams Formula One test driver Max Wilson from Team Betta Electrical.
