Ford Australia has again renewed its sponsorship of the Geelong Football Club, signing a new five-year term with the reigning AFL premiers.
"Ford started manufacturing the Model-T in Geelong in 1925 and the same year commenced sponsoring the Cats," said Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Beth Donovan.
"Over the past 83 years the partnership has grown to become one of the most widely recognised sponsorships in Australian sport."
The new agreement will see the Ford 'Blue Oval' in prominent positions at the Cats' home ground as well as taking pride of place on the club Guernsey.
The two parties have also applied to the Guinness Book of Records to have Ford's support of the Cats recognised as the world's longest running sporting sponsorship.
"We're incredibly proud to be such steadfast supporters of the Cats," said Ms Donovan.
"Geelong means a great deal to Ford and our support of the local footy team, a premiership winning one at that, is the best way to display our ongoing commitment to the wider Geelong community as a whole."
