Dressed in driving suits, the drivers went through every possible G-Force loading over the 45-second ride.
Normally used to speeds of up to 300 km/h, many of the drivers admitted to being nervous when riding ?Lethal Weapon?.
?When driving I?m in total control, on this thing it?s a whole different story,? said Brazilian star Max Wilson of Team Betta Electrical.
?Honestly, taking part in this event would be the only chance of getting me aboard any roller coaster.
?I enjoyed the ride, but when offered the chance to go around again I was quick to get off?.
Last year?s winner of the VIP Pet Foods Queensland 500 Steven Johnson was one driver keen to stay on.
?It would be great if they could let you go straight through the loading area and just keep going,? said the Shell Helix Racing driver.
?It?s quite interesting as the G-Force load is very similar to what we experience in the race car?.
Three-time V8 Supercar Champion Craig Lowndes had a somewhat different description for the G-Forces experienced.
?The loops on the ride give you the same type of sensation as a rollover, with the exception of the big bang when the car comes to rest,? said Lowndes.
?I trust that I won?t get a repeat performance of that feeling this weekend at Queensland Raceway?.
Practice for this weekend?s V8 action begins tomorrow with Saturday to feature qualifying and a top-15 shootout in the afternoon; Sunday?s VIP Pet Foods Queensland 500 gets underway from 1pm local time.
