Ford Australia demonstrated its commitment to Hume City Council’s Connecting Hume PC Award Program when it recently donated a Falcon BF Futura MKII Wagon to Council.
The Connecting Hume PC Award, sponsored by Ford Australia and supported by Green PC, is an initiative designed to reward Grade 4 primary school students in Hume City who have a passion and interest in learning and would otherwise be unable to purchase computers. Students receive refurbished computers, computer training and 12 months free internet access.

“Ford is a proud supporter of the Connecting Hume PC Award Program and value our association with Hume City Council, the Hume Global Learning Village, and Green PC,” said Brenda Richardson, Vice-President, Information Technology, Ford Australia.
“Ford Australia is also committed to other programs that support the education of promising students within Hume,” she said.
Primary school principals in Hume nominate one Grade 4 student, who clearly demonstrates a love of learning to be a recipient of the award. In 2006, Hume City Council presented 45 students in Hume with this prestigious award.
Hume Mayor, Cr Gary Jungwirth said, “Council believes children are the key to our future and places an emphasis on education to enable children to reach their full potential and develop the skills needed to contribute to a vibrant and healthy community.
“We appreciate the support of companies like Ford as the donation of a vehicle helps make this important program possible”.
