Ford fans will have the chance to own a unique piece of Australian motoring history, and contribute to a worthwhile cause, with the bonnet from the Ford LPG Challenge Fairmont being offered for auction.
All proceeds from the auction will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
The bonnet of the Icon blue E-Gas Fairmont has been signed by members of the Ford V8 Supercar driver fraternity.
Many of the V8 Supercar drivers who signed the bonnet took part in the Ford LPG Challenge, including Betta Electrical Sandown 500 winners Jason Bright and Mark Winterbottom, reigning series champion Russell Ingall and current series leader Craig Lowndes.
The Ford LPG Challenge arrived back in Melbourne on August 25, after completing a lap of mainland Australia for less than $1000.
“The Ford LPG Challenge was a fantastic event that raised the level of interest in the range of dedicated LPG Falcons to new heights,” said Ford Australia President Tom Gorman.
“Now Ford fans around the country have their chance to raise much needed funds to help the fight against breast cancer, and one person will become the proud owner of a unique piece of motoring history.”
Mr Gorman said the Ford LPG Challenge bonnet would be auctioned on eBay Motors, starting on October 6 and finishing at midday on October 16.
The successful bidder will also receive a framed picture of all the V8 Supercar drivers with the E-Gas Fairmont.
Bids can be placed by visiting www.ebaymotors.com.au
