Engine Upgrade for Falcon XR Ute

"The reaction to the Pursuit ute was absolutely stunning, with the production run being sold almost overnight," said Light Commercial Marketing Manager, Kevin Lillie. "As a result we've decided to make the enhanced powertrains standard."

The XR8 ute will be fitted with the same 5.0 litre V8 that has, in the past, been reserved for its sedan sibling. The sequentially-injected V8 produces 200kW of power at 5000rpm and 420Nm of torque at 3750rpm.

The VCT engine fitted to the XR6 Pursuit produces 172kW of power at 5000rpm and 374Nm of torque at 3500rpm.

All XR utes are fitted with 17" alloy wheels and P235/45 ZR17 tyres.

A new body kit, consisting of front bumper 'lip', rear bumper 'fins' and side skirts, is also available as a Tickford fitted option. The body kit will retail for $1400.

Standard Features
Air conditioning, drivers airbag, power windows, cruise control and an AM/FM sound system with an 'in-dash' six stack CD player are standard on the VCT XR6 and 200kW XR8 utes.

Factory-fitted options include passenger airbag, leather seats, and a Momo sports steering wheel and gear shift.

Sales Success
The AU ute has set record after record since it's release in July 1999. This year* over 2300 Falcon utes have been sold, compared with 912 Commodore utes. (*Source – February YTD, VFACTS)

Recommended Retail Prices
The recommended retail price for the 200kw XR8 ute (5 spd) will be $36,009, with the VCT XR6 (5 spd) priced at $31,385.
