Ford Australia today announced it will progressively introduce Dynamic Stability Control across the petrol FG Falcon Ute range from September.
Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) will be standard on FG Falcon Ute models equipped with sports suspension from September production and offered as an option on workhorse models with various-tonne suspension packages from December production.

Dynamic Stability Control to be Introduced on FG Falcon Ute

Ford’s acclaimed DSC system will be available across all FG Falcon Ute models powered by a petrol engine, from the mainstream 195kW 4.0-litre DI-VCT I6 powerplant to the performance 270kW I6 Turbo and Boss 290 5.4-litre V8 engines.
The DSC system will incorporate Traction Control, four-channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), with the latter not previously available on Falcon Ute models.

"With the introduction of DSC on Falcon Ute, in conjunction with the availability of side head/thorax airbags, customers are able to configure their vehicle with a comprehensive safety package that is unmatched in the passenger-derived ute market," Ford Australia Vice-President Marketing and Sales Mark Winslow said.
"Ford Australia has continually been at the forefront of local automotive manufacturing in implementing advanced safety features in its vehicles and delivering real-world safety benefits to its customers.

"The Territory was the first Australian-built vehicle to be equipped with an electronic chassis control system when it was released in 2004, while the following year Ford delivered the first local application of DSC technology on a V8 sedan, as well as the first use of DSC with a manual transmission.

"Since then DSC has become standard equipment across the entire Territory range, as well as on all petrol Falcon sedan models. It was also introduced on the petrol Falcon wagon with the recent release of the BF Falcon Wagon MkIII."
From September, DSC will be fitted as standard equipment on all petrol FG Falcon Ute XR models, which includes XR6 Cab Chassis and Styleside Box, XR6 Turbo Styleside Box and XR8 Styleside Box models.

DSC will also be available as an option on the petrol R6 Styleside Box model, which is also fitted with sports suspension as standard equipment.
From December, DSC will be available as an option on the rest of the petrol FG Falcon Ute range, which includes the entry-level Falcon Ute Cab Chassis and Styleside Box, and R6 Cab Chassis models, as well as the R6 Styleside Box and XR6 Cab Chassis models fitted with optional one-tonne suspension.
