Cougar Gets a Fresh New Look

The exterior changes are designed to enhance Cougar’s acclaimed “New Edge” styling.

Central to the new look is a restyled front-end that incorporates new headlamps and fog lamps in a new bumper design. The rear bumper has also been changed, while new six-spoke alloy wheels have been fitted.

Three new colours are available: a metallic French Blue, a metallic Amazon Green and Vibrant White.

The interior has also been freshened, with satin aluminium accents on the instrument cluster, switches and controls. This “high-tech” treatment extends to the gear knob, t-bar and handbrake.

The steering wheel is a new leather, four-spoke design that complements the interior styling changes.

The front seats have also been changed, with a new design offering strong lateral support and a sporty feel. There are new trim and sew patterns on the seats.

Ford Special Vehicle Operation Business Development Manager Rick Nayler said the new model Cougar built on the styling strengths of the original model.

“The Cougar already has a fantastic presence on the road, so the changes we have made are subtle and very much in keeping with the original design intent of the car,” he said.

The Cougar maintains its high specification levels, including standard air-conditioning, driver, passenger and side airbags, traction control, ABS, car alarm and power windows and seats.

The new Cougar's recommended retail price is $41,320 for manual transmission and $43,010 for automatic.
