Not only will all officially supported entries in the V8 Supercar Series carry pink ribbon logos on their windscreens, but Jason Bright (CAT Ford Performance Racing) has agreed to change his helmet paint scheme to support awareness of Breast Cancer. Bright has swapped his predominantly yellow helmet for a pink model for the Indy weekend only.
In the coming months the helmet will be auctioned to help raise much needed funds to fight breast cancer.
Last year the Ford Racing program along with the Ford Motor Company donated $100,000 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
"I'm more than happy to change my helmet paint scheme to help raise awareness for the fight against breast cancer," said Bright.
"This really is a unique item. I have stuck with my traditional yellow helmet scheme for over ten years now, so to change it is a big deal. The person who ends up buying the helmet will have a great piece of memorabilia as well as the knowledge that they've contributed to the fight against breast cancer.
"I hope that we can bring home a good result to increase the helmet's value at auction."
As well as the pink helmet auction, Ford will also be selling pink handbags and raffling a hot lap with Craig Lowndes (Team Betta Electrical) at the Ford V8 Superbreakfast to be held at Rick's Dining Room at Warner Bros. Movie World on Wednesday 19 October from 7.30am to 9am.
Ford will sell the pink handbags made popular in the Focus advertising campaign for $45 each at the breakfast. These bags are also for sale through Ford dealerships across Australia. $10 from each of the bags sold goes to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
All 14 of Ford?s officially supported drivers will be at the Indy Ford V8 Superbreakfast.
Ford V8 Superbreakfasts record sell-outs across the country, the Movie World event is sure to be no exception. It?s an event for fans not to miss.
The Ford V8 Superbreakfast includes exclusive driver interviews, live show entertainment, highlights of the season, special gifts and giveaways.
Tickets for the Indy Ford V8 Superbreakfast are priced at $85 (plus booking fee) and can be booked though Ticketmaster 7 at www.ticketmaster.com.au or by calling 13 61 00.
