Aussie Falcon Joins Elite CompanyAussie Falcon Joins Elite Company

Australia?s own Ford Falcon has been selected as one of 25 vehicles that represent the ?heart and soul? of Ford Motor Company, along with legendary nameplates like the Model T, Mustang, Thunderbird, F-Series truck and E-Type Jaguar.

The Aussie icon, which has been in local production for more than 40 years, was selected by international journalists from a field of more than 1000 models built over the 100-year history of the company globally.

The field included brands acquired by Ford Motor Company over the years, including Jaguar, Aston Martin, Volvo, Mazda, Lincoln, Mercury and Land Rover.

Ford asked the international automotive news media to identify the 25 vehicles around the globe that represented the ?heart and soul? of Ford Motor Company.

The survey asked journalists to select 25 vehicles that ?evoked passion, inspired excitement and created enthusiasm - cars and trucks with heart and soul.?

More than 300 journalists responded and the 1960 XK Falcon made the cut.

?When you look at the extensive product history of Ford and all of its brands, it?s a daunting task to select only 25 vehicles,? said J Mays, Vice President, Design.

?So many great products were left out, but we wanted to keep the list to only the very top vehicles. We think the media did an outstanding job in choosing products that truly do have ?heart and soul?."
