Having finished third and second in the opening two races, Ambrose swept through to win the final 42-lap race to be the first Ford driver to win three-straight since Glenn Seton in 1993.
The last time Ford won four races in succession was 1995 when Seton and Bowe dominated the opening half of that season.
The final race of the weekend featured plenty of drama from the green light. Ambrose swept into the lead ahead of Greg Murphy and Mark Skaife before the round of compulsory tyre stops.
In the re-shuffle following the stops, Ambrose held onto the lead while Todd Kelly jumped into second ahead of Murphy and Skaife.
The race was not without incident when Ambrose came into contact with 00 Motorsport?s Rodney Forbes. Forbes was sent spinning off the track as the Pirtek driver made his by.
The action didn?t end for Forbes who two laps later spun in front of Mark Skaife and then collided with him. Skaife suffered damage to his passenger side door and a rubbing guard punctured the tyre near the end of the race dropping him back down the order.
The safety car was then called out onto the track with just a handful of laps to run when Super Cheap Auto Racing?s Steve Ellery ran off the track and rolled his Falcon. Ellery was not hurt in the accident and the car suffered relatively minor damage.
The race was restarted with just one lap to run and Ambrose easily held on to take the win.
It was a major turn around in fortunes for the Tasmanian in Perth who in two previous events had finished well down the order.
The result now has Ambrose third in the championship, well within reach of series leader Jason Bright and second placed man Steven Richards.
?As this had not been a good place for me the goal before this weekend was to simply be consistent, so to win is great,? said Ambrose.
?I tell you the car was awesome, our team has unlocked the code on making the BA Falcon work and to have great grip on a track that traditionally we couldn?t find traction is testimony to where we are with the car.
?You know we had a couple of bad runs on the Sunday in Adelaide and then Phillip Island, but I can?t fault what?s happened since and there?s no reason why it can?t keep on rolling on.
?We are in the championship chase full on now and Ford fans have every right to feel that we can give it a serious shake.
?It?s a historical moment to be the first Ford driver since Glenn in 1993 to win three straight, but Ford fans will not have to wait that long again I promise.
?Next stop is Darwin and that?s where I won my first V8 round two years ago and it?s a place where Stone Brothers Racing has always been strong, so we are very confident of further success in the top end?.
The weekend was looking promising for Ford with Caltex Havoline Racing?s Russell Ingall and Craig Lowndes (CAT Ford Performance Racing) both in the hunt for a podium result.
That all ended in the second race when a jammed throttle sent Ingall of the track, while Lowndes made a braking error and crashed into Simon Wills to end both their races.
Paul Radisich ended another consistent weekend to be placed 10th overall and moved into ninth in the title chase.
The second part of the western swing will be in Darwin in three weeks time for the sixth round of this year?s V8 Supercar Championship Series.
