Marcos Ambrose will make his 20th NASCAR start this weekend when the Australian lines up for the Silverado 350 at Texas Motor Speedway.

Ambrose made his sixth start of the season at the 1.5-mile oval at Texas earlier this season and was a respectable 27th in the #20 Team Australia/Aussie Vineyards Ford F-150.
Texas was the beginning of Ambrose’s rise in the category and since he last visited Texas Motor Speedway the Australian NASCAR rookie has collected a Budweiser Pole Award, two third place finishes, a WIX Filters Lap Leader Award and three Raybestos Rookie of the Race awards.
Ambrose is now one point from third in the Raybestos Rookie of the Year standings and with two of the final three tracks of the season being 1.5-mile ovals, the Australian has a good chance of getting yet another top result before embarking on the 2007 NASCAR Busch Series with Wood Brothers/JTG Racing.
Ambrose was pleased with the pace of the #20 Team Australia/Aussie Vineyards Ford F-150 last weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway but was unable to convert the speed into his fourth top 10 result.
The Australian is confident that the form shown in Atlanta will carry over to Texas this weekend, the 23rd race in the 2006 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

WHAT THEY HAD TO SAY !
“I’m really glad were going to Texas this week because we learned so much at Atlanta”, said Ambrose.
“When we went to these mile-and-a-half tracks earlier this year, we went with a strategy to stay out of the way and learn. Now were in position to compete. Its a completely different mindset. ”
“The race we had at Texas in June was the start of a really strong run of races for this team earlier in the season. Its the style of track we have adapted to best and its the second and final venue I get to visit twice this season, so well be giving it everything.”
“Everyone is keen to get a win at this stage of the year so the racing is going to be pretty tough from here on in. We’ve just got to keep working at it and working on having a good truck for the end of these races and one of these deals will come our way.”
