Adam will be joining the V8 Brute championship, as teammate to current Ford Credit Racing Ute drivers Ian Mc'Alister and Graeme Hunt in the PROCAR run series. Adam will be joining the V8 Brute roadshow at the fourth round in Winton, northern Victoria.
Adam has been a Ford Ute fan ever since he first packed up his possessions and trekked across the Nullabor in his XF Falcon ute. He arrived in Sydney and has become one of the fastest rising stars in Australian country music. His three album releases to date have all achieved Gold status, and his latest album, "Built for Speed", is well on the way to even greater success. He has won numerous music awards, the most recent being Male Country Performer of the year for 2001.
Adam, a self-confessed ute devotee, is extremely excited to be joining Ford Credit Racing. "I just can't wait to get the Ford Credit Falcon XR8 ute out on the track and mix it with the other cars. It's going to be great fun."
Ever since they debuted at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide last year, the V8 Brute series has been a huge hit with fans all around the country. The popularity is particularly evident in the regional locations where "ute musters " are held to accompany the race meetings.
Ford Credit has been involved in Australian motorsport since 1996 when they began sponsoring Glenn Seton in the V8 Supercar championships. With Ford Credit as his partner, Glenn went on to become the touring car champion in 1997.
The Ford Credit Racing Utes have a brand new look for 2002, being designed in conjunction with Ford Motor Company designer Nick Hogios, in the same livery as the V8 Super car team.
"We are extremely excited that Adam Brand is joining our strong three car team with his debut drive at Winton," said Geoff Green Managing Director of Ford Credit Australia.
"There is definitely a growing ute culture in Australia and Ford Credit is pleased to be involved in this growing category of motor racing. Through the Ford Credit network I know that Adam and the entire team will enjoy enthusiastic support".
"The Brute race meetings are going to be a little more entertaining with Adam Brand's involvement, increasing the exposure of the series, Ford Credit's finance and insurance products and Ford Motor sport".
The next round of the 2002 V8 Brute series is on between June 21 ? 23, at Winton Motor Raceway in northern Victoria.
